Alan came into the trade straight from school at the age of 16 years old. He joined JC Watson as an apprentice, carrying out a block release course between Lewisham College and JC Watson. He spent 14 good years at JC Watson before deciding on trying to have a go on his own with fellow JC Watson employee and good friend Mark Lappage. Alan said “I will always be grateful for all the help and guidance I had at JC Watson working with some of the best engineers in the trade and learning so much for them. Also from Jamie Watson himself for providing me the opportunity to come in to the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry and for giving me the belief to succeed”. Alan and Mark set up Godfrey & Lappage in 1997 with their beliefs in offering a first class, efficient and professional service and being very meticulous in every decision. After 21 good years, Godfrey & Lappage continues to grow from strength to strength.
Mark came into the trade straight from school at the age of 16 years old. He spent his apprenticeship at Denco and Time Engineers before also spending time at Rayvac and finally JC Watson. He also carried out a block release course at Lewisham College. Mark said “I will always be grateful for all the help and support I received from a vast variety of engineers throughout my time at these companies. I loved every minute of it and learning from such a varied type of equipment range in both air conditioning and refrigeration has helped me so much in my development over these years”. Mark was at JC Watson when he decided to join forces with good friend and fellow employee Alan Godfrey to create Godfrey & Lappage. Alan and Mark set up Godfrey & Lappage in 1997 with their beliefs in offering a first class, efficient and professional service and being very meticulous in every decision. After 21 good years, Godfrey & Lappage continues to grow from strength to strength.
Godfrey & Lappage Office Team
Our friendly and helpful office team are always on hand to offer guidance and assistance everyday of the year. On our service desk we have our service manager Michelle plus Donna, Emma and Tracy offering their experience and expertise on organising and arranging anything from a basic reactive service call out to a planned maintenance visit or to the delivery of a much needed part. With their combined experience of service support, Alan and Mark are very confident that any client is in safe hands. With the use of our database as well as our engineering vehicles being tracked, a quick turnaround from original call out to job completion is not a problem for our friendly and polite service team.
On the accounts and billing side our team consists of Ray, Sharon, Sue and Georgia who again with many years of experience at hand can deal with any account question with ease and simplicity. They will happily take payments over the phone or send an invoice or statement in minutes. With their polite and friendly attitude nothing is a problem for our team.
Our refrigerant management and parts control for all of our engineering team is carried out to meticulous detail by Nick our Logistics manager. With our very organised parts warehouse to our F-Gas regulated database, the engineering team are very well supported in delivering the speedy and efficient service we are well known for within our trade.
With the importance of delivering a first class service, Malcolm is the perfect person for making sure the directors beliefs are carried out to perfection. Malcolm has over 40 years of experience within this trade offering a diverse knowledge of of our trade to be able to answer any query or client request with ease.
Godfrey & Lappage have three divisions. The service division, Maintenance division and the Installation division. Each one of these divisions has quality and experience flowing throughout. We pride ourselves on offering what is best for our clients and not what’s best for us, and to be able to deliver this in a polite, helpful and efficient way. With a variety of ages as well as a large diverse of experience on a wide range of equipment our engineering divisions are more than cable to deal with any job or project. With a number of our engineers passing their 10 years with Godfrey & Lappage, we are confident that our ethos is continuing to be delivered perfectly and hopefully for many more years to come. With our very own training room now in full swing, Godfrey & Lappage’s apprentice’s are being taught with Mark and Alan’s philosophy paramount in their engineering journey.
